Discover and My events
Discover shows approved online listings. My events shows only the signed-in organiser’s listings, including Pending and Rejected submissions. Visitors do not need to sign in to browse. Favourites stay in this browser; they do not sync between devices.
How do I sign in?
Use the organiser test account created for this pilot. This is separate from your Supabase dashboard login. Public self-registration and password-reset email are not enabled in this app yet. Sign-in is kept for this tab; sign out on a shared computer.
Why is my event Pending?
New events and all organiser edits go for review. During this pilot, the project owner approves events in the Supabase dashboard by changing approval_status to approved. Organisers cannot approve their own submissions in this app. Click Refresh events after a review.
Posters and event dates
Posters are stored in a private bucket. Visitors can load posters linked to approved events; organisers can view their own uploads. Temporary viewing links last five minutes, so previously issued links may work briefly after an event is unpublished. Replacements use new filenames. Times are South African (UTC+02:00); overnight events appear on each date they overlap.
What happened to my local events?
The earlier browser database is left intact. To migrate, export a JSON backup from your original local prototype, then sign in here and use My events → Import backup. The import explicitly uploads the chosen event details and posters to your account as Pending. Do not import someone else’s private information without permission.
Backup and import
Export downloads your own online events and poster images. Import adds missing entries without updating existing events. Events with the same backup identifier are skipped. If a network error interrupts an import, the completed entries remain saved and you can retry the same backup. Existing events keep their approval status; newly imported ones are Pending. Maximum backup: 30 MB / 500 events.
Internet access and connection errors
This version needs internet access for login, online events and poster files. It does not silently save failed uploads locally. If loading fails, check your connection and refresh. A paused Supabase project must be resumed in its dashboard. When moving from a file address to hosting, your local favourites and sign-in session may not carry over.
What is still planned?
This is an online pilot, not a finished public service. Public registration and email delivery, an in-app moderation dashboard, anti-abuse controls, privacy/support pages and payment integration remain future work. Validate permissions with two organiser accounts before public launch.
